Order CBD Online
In the last couple of years, to order CBD online has become increasingly popular. One of the most common claims of cannabis is that it is effective in reducing stress and anxiety. According to one study published in the Journal of Drug and Alcohol, this claim may be true but at lower doses.
Over recent years, laws on the use of marijuana have been changed now. A group of researchers from different universities in Chicago find out the resources to investigate the effect of tetrahydrocannabinol ( THC) which is the main ingredient found in cannabis. They tried to test the users of cannabis who claimed that it helped them to relieve stress and depression. However, there is little scientific information on it.
CBD and stress relief
The team of researchers in Chicago find out the stress-relieving characteristics of cannabis at different doses. Overall, there were 42 different people between ages 18 and 40 that were studied. All 42 individuals were taking cannabis but were not daily users. These 43 people were divided into different groups.
- The low dosage group consume the capsules containing 7.5 milligrams of THC.
- A moderate group consume the capsules of 12.5 milligrams of THC.
- The placebo group, who consume a capsule that has no THC at all.
Research on CBD
According to the researchers of Chicago, the doses that were used in that research were equivalent to only a few puffs of a cannabis cigarette. The researchers also stated that to avoid the potential adverse effects and other cardiovascular effects, we do not include much larger doses.
Neither the investigators nor the participants know exactly what doses they were given. Participants were asked to rate their stress levels and feelings at the beginning, during, and after the tasks. The heart rate and blood pressure were measured throughout the tests. They were claimed to have reduced stress levels after that.
How does CBD work?
There are different receptors in the human body. They are protein-based chemicals that stick to your cells. It is thought that CBD interacts with the CB1 and CB2 receptors. They are commonly found in the peripheral and central nervous systems respectively.
It is not fully understood the exact way how the CBD affects CB1 receptors in the brain. However, the serotonin signals may be changed by it.
Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that has a significant role in mental health. Low serotonin levels are associated with depression. Having low levels of serotonin may cause anxiety. The conventional treatment to treat this low serotonin level is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor ( SSRI) such as fluoxetine and sertraline.
However, in recent years, people order CBD online more often to manage their stress conditions instead of SSRI. But, it is important to talk to your doctor before changing your treatment plans to treat anxiety and stress.
